Shields of Tupper's Plains, Ohio, she was born Feb 8,1852, died Sept.28,1929. Both are buried in the Tuppers Plains Christian Cemetery. Eldo Albert and his twin Aldo Elbert were born February 28, 1881 in Tuppers Plains, Ohio to Israel L. and Sarah M. Shields Mitchell. Eldo Albert and his twin Aldo Elbert were born February 28, 1881 in Tuppers Plains, Ohio to Israel L. and Sarah M. Shields Mitchell. He attended school at Tuppers Plaines and then came to Cedar County, Iowa March 19, 1900. Here he met and married Bertha Ann Achey October 8,1903. They started farming in Cass Township, Cedar County, Iowa. Here they raised seven boys with the oldest Harold died as a small child. Eldo passed away at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids a 2:30 a.m. November 15 after an illness of four days. He had been a member of the New Olivet Presbyterian church south of Mechanicsville and a member of the Modern Woodmen of America. Services were held November 18 at the First Presbyterian church in Tipton with the Revs Louis Penningroth and Ralph Adamson in charge. Burial was in Evergreen cemetery west of Cedar Bluffs. The Dye Funeral home was in charge. Pallbearers were Guy M, Roger, Donald and Richard Mitchell, Charles Schutterle and Donald Bohr. William Naber and Mrs Jack Leverenz were vocalist with Mrs. C. P. Christianson as organist. He was preceededi in death by 3 sons and 5 brothers. Siblings: Edward E. (1873-1934) Milo G. (1874-1920) Dr. Carl (1879-1952) Aldo E. (1881-1955) Twin with Eldo A. Nile H.
