Description	:	Eldor H. Von Deylen, 88, Napoleon, died Tuesday evening in Lutheran Home, Napoleon. He was born May 1, 1916, in Henry Countys Freedom Township, the son of Otto and Ella (Gerken) Von Deylen. In 1940, he married Esther Borstelman, who died in 1995. In 1996, he married Helen Spiess, who survives. He was the owner/operator of Von Deylen Plumbing & Heating Co., Napoleon, that he founded in 1948, retiring in 1979. Von Deylen, 88, Napoleon, died Tuesday evening in Lutheran Home, Napoleon. He was born May 1, 1916, in Henry Countys Freedom Township, the son of Otto and Ella (Gerken) Von Deylen. In 1940, he married Esther Borstelman, who died in 1995. In 1996, he married Helen Spiess, who survives. He was the owner/operator of Von Deylen Plumbing & Heating Co., Napoleon, that he founded in 1948, retiring in 1979. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Napoleon, where he was chairman of the building committee, a trustee, elder and former custodian. He was a seaman first class in the U.S. Navy, serving during World War II from 1945-46 and a member of Bert G. Taylor American Legion Post 300, Napoleon. Also surviving are four sons, Ronald of Maumee, Kenneth of Honolulu, Hawaii, Darrell of Springboro and Larry, Salem, Ore.; a daughter, Mrs. Michael (Sandra) Barrett, Lake Mary, Fla.; four stepdaughters, Mrs. Leonard (Carol) Schmucker of Lakeland, Fla., Mrs. Lowell (Jane) Hoover and Mrs. Terry (Mary Kay) Osborn of Napoleon and Mrs. Darrell (Connie) Durham, Montpelier; a brother, Walter, Ridgeville Corners; a sister, Esther Nagel, Wauseon; and 26 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren. Also preceding him in death was a sister, Laura Von Deylen. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in St. Paul Lutheran Church, Napoleon, with Revs. Norm Koy and Peter Marcis officiating. Entombment will be in Riverview Memory Gardens mausoleum, Defiance County, with military rites accorded by joint Napoleon military posts. Visitation is from 2-9 p.m. Friday in Snyder-Wesche Funeral Home & Crematories, Napoleon, and one hour prior to services Saturday at the church. Preferred memorials are to the church memorial fund, Lutheran Home or Alzheimers Association.
