Description	:	Walter VonDeylen, 89, of Ridgeville Corners, Ohio died Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at his residence. He was born March 19, 1926 in Freedom Township, Ohio to the late Otto and Ella (Gerken) VonDeylen. On August 22, 1946 he married Lillian Drewes at St. Paul's Lutheran Church Napoleon Township with Rev. Alvin Drewes officiating. Walter worked as a custodian at Ridgeville schools for 30 years. Read More	Walter VonDeylen, 89, of Ridgeville Corners, Ohio died Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at his residence. He was born March 19, 1926 in Freedom Township, Ohio to the late Otto and Ella (Gerken) VonDeylen. On August 22, 1946 he married Lillian Drewes at St. Paul's Lutheran Church Napoleon Township with Rev. Alvin Drewes officiating. Walter worked as a custodian at Ridgeville schools for 30 years. He also worked for the Napoleon Filling Home and Bil Jax in Napoleon. He was also the Assistant Fire Chief for the Ridgeville Fire and Rescue and was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Ridgeville Corners where he was secretary and elder of the church. He was honored to be a Hometown Hero by Henry County Red Cross. He is survived by his wife, Lillian; children, Ellen Kay (Ray) Drewes, Ridgeville Corners, Ann (Barry) Woodyard, Kalida, Ohio, Betty (Dennis) Mohring, Ridgeville Corners, Roy (Rhonda) VonDeylen, Napoleon; daughter in law, Lynda (Mark) Cramer, Ridgeville Corners; grandchildren, Bob (Jamie) Woodyard, Kimberly (Rob) French, Barry (Jeannie) VonDeylen, Kyle (Nicole) VonDeylen, Ryan VonDeylen, Ashley VonDeylen, Megan (Casey) Metzger; great grandchildren, Parker, Peyton, Carson, Molly, Mason, Camden, and Theresa; step sister, Lucille Cordes; and sister-in-law, Helen VonDeylen. He was preceded in death by son Robert VonDeylen; grandson, Robin VonDeylen; brother, Eldor VonDeylen; sister, Esther Nagel and Laura VonDeylen; step mother, Sophia VonDeylen; and step siblings, Eldor Mohring, Leola Schultz, Laura Heckler, Luella Pillifant, and Loretta Hess. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 3 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Ridgeville Corners with Pastor Alva Martis officiating. Interment will follow at Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2 - 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 2 at the Rodenberger Funeral Home of Napoleon, and one hour prior to the service at the church. A Fireman's Last Call Service will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
