Description	:	Eleanor Louise "Nick" Coffman, 94, passed away on Monday, July 6, 2009 at Aldersgate Village in Topeka. She was born on November 28, 1914, in Topeka, the daughter of Earl G. and Elizabeth Lowe. Eleanor graduated from Topeka High School and attended Emporia State University. She married attorney Harry T. Coffman of Lyndon on October 11, 1936 and they lived in Lyndon until the 1990's. They had two sons, James R. Read More	Eleanor Louise "Nick" Coffman, 94, passed away on Monday, July 6, 2009 at Aldersgate Village in Topeka. She was born on November 28, 1914, in Topeka, the daughter of Earl G. and Elizabeth Lowe. Eleanor graduated from Topeka High School and attended Emporia State University. She married attorney Harry T. Coffman of Lyndon on October 11, 1936 and they lived in Lyndon until the 1990's. They had two sons, James R. Coffman, now of Manhattan and Tom Coffman of Honolulu, Hawaii. Eleanor was a homemaker and active in the community and the United Methodist Church. Her many friends and acquaintances called her Nick. She did a great deal of work in support of youth activities, including youth sports, the Boy Scouts of America and 4-H. She and several friends helped establish a teen center in Lyndon that was active for many years. She and Harry traveled widely in the United States, Europe and the Pacific. She had a strong connection with Hawaii, where Tom and his family live. After Harry's death in 1995, she continued to go to Hawaii annually until she was 93. She was an avid reader. She loved bridge, which she played until a few weeks ago. Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband Harry, her parents, her brother, Earl G. Lowe, Jr. and a sister, Bernice Leeper. Eleanor is survived by her son Jim and his wife Sharon Neill Coffman; son Tom and his wife Lois U.H. Lee; six grandchildren, David, Michael, Scott, Harry K., Nathanael and Makena; twelve great-grandchildren; a niece, Marilyn Lindsey of Maple Hill; and a nephew John Leeper III, of New York. Funeral services for Eleanor will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, July 13, 2009 at the Lyndon United Methodist Church. Visitation will be at 1:00 p.m. on Monday until service time at the church. Burial will be at the Overbrook Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Care of Kansas, 2900-H Oakley Avenue, Topeka, KS., 66614, or in care of Feltner Funeral Home of Lyndon
