She was born May 22, 1916, in Lima to Chester Harold and Christina Clements Pool, who preceded her in death. On June 14, 1937, she married Charles Marion Franklin, who died in 1972. Mrs. Franklin had been a teacher at Washington-McKinley, Edison and Horace Mann schools in Lima, and Lincoln School in Emmaus, Pa. She was born May 22, 1916, in Lima to Chester Harold and Christina Clements Pool, who preceded her in death. On June 14, 1937, she married Charles Marion Franklin, who died in 1972. Mrs. Franklin had been a teacher at Washington-McKinley, Edison and Horace Mann schools in Lima, and Lincoln School in Emmaus, Pa. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Lima, where she taught Sunday school and was a member of its United Methodist Women and the choir. She was a member of the Allen County Retired Teachers, Delta Kappa Gamma Society, the Federation of Women's Clubs and Hawthorne Club. She was the first resident at Otterbein-Cridersville to celebrate 20 years. She was a graduate of Lima South High School, Bowling Green State University and Ohio Northern University. Survivors include a daughter, Joan L. Franklin, of Milford, Pa.; three grandchildren, Todd (Crissy) Franklin, Michele (Tim) Holstein and Matthew (Joanie) Franklin; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Larry A. Franklin. Memorial services will begin at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the community room of Otterbein Retirement Community, Cridersville. Chaplain Carol Sainey will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima. Friends may call following the service in the community room. Memorial contributions may be made to benevolent fund at Otterbein Retirement Community or Trinity United Methodist Church.
