Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, February 1, 2013 at the United Methodist Church in St. Edward, NE. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in St. Edward. Eleanor Mary Cruise, daughter of Otto and Lena (Staashelm) Draeger, was born October 20, 1919 at Box Elder, Montana. She attended grade school in Montana and Nebraska and graduated from St. Edward High School in 1937. Following high school she taught at various schools for 3 years. Eleanor was united in marriage to Fay E. Cruise on February 3, 1940 at Albion, Nebraska. To this union, 4 sons were born: Ron, Bob, Denny and Larry. They made their home on a farm near St. Edward where they farmed and raised purebred Angus cattle. In 1969, Fay and Eleanor moved into St. Edward but continued farming until retiring in 1985. In February 2011, Eleanor entered the Cloverlodge Care Center. It was there she passed away on Monday, January 28, 2013. Eleanor was a member of the United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She always enjoyed gardening, reading, crocheting and loved to go camping. Eleanor is survived by her husband Fay of St. Edward; 4 sons: Ron Cruise and wife Jan of St. Edward; Bob Cruise and wife Charlotte of Columbus; Denny Cruise and wife Shelley of St. Edward; Larry Cruise and wife Anita of St. Edward; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one brother: Lee Draeger and wife Gayle of Osceola; 2 sisters-in-law: Ruth Draeger of Fargo, ND and Frances Draeger of Pierce, NE; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers: Evan and Harold Draeger and one sister: Ferneen Furby and husband Eldon.
