Description	:	Eleanor Mary McAllister was born on May 8, 1919 to Cletus and Veronica Hoch. Her first job was as a nanny in Chicago. She later met Harry McAllister and the couple was married in 1948 in Unionville, Missouri. They started a family and Eleanor became a stay at home mom and daycare provider. Her first job was as a nanny in Chicago. She later met Harry McAllister and the couple was married in 1948 in Unionville, Missouri. They started a family and Eleanor became a stay at home mom and daycare provider. Eleanor loved being a mother. After her family was raised, Eleanor worked in the Overall Factory, 10X in Pleasantville and also as a manager at KFC. She really enjoyed quilting and sewing. She took a lot of advanced sewing classes. Eleanor also had a great faith and was very active in her church. Eleanor was an energetic, outspoken and independent person. Her family also describes her as being adventurous and determined. In later years, she was given a skateboard for her birthday from one of her grandchildren as a joke. Eleanor took up riding that skateboard and only gave it up after falling and breaking her arm. Eleanor passed away Saturday, February 7, 2015 at the age of 95 years at Griffin Nursing Center in Knoxville. Preceding her in death were her parents: Cletus and Veronica Hoch; husband, Harry in 1985; daughter, Linda Paulsen; infant son, Trevor; infant grandson, Christopher; and siblings: Norbert Hoch, Gilbert Hoch, Geneva Kauzlarich, Laureen Ripperger, Marcella Ripperger, and Virgil Hoch. Surviving are her children: Kay (Mike) Rasmussen of Exira, Roberta (Jim) Ryan of Polk City, and Dean (Diane) McAllister of Council Hill, OK; 14 grandchildren: Jill Strohmeyer, Matt Rasmussen, Toni Spruell, Joe Rasmussen, Trisha Boehm, Aaron Paulsen, Alec Paulsen, Isaac Paulsen, Dan Ryan, Chris Ryan, Tim Ryan, Maggie Ryan, John McAllister, and Mark McAllister; 24 great grandchildren; and siblings: Slim (Jodi) Hoch, Claude (Norma) Hoch, and Ivola Schmidt.
