Wilson died suddenly at her home on Morehead street. Mrs. Wilson had suffered a fall a few days before and had not felt well since. She arose early in the morning and had barely put her feet on the floor when she fell back onto the bed unconscious. Mrs. Jeffers, a daughter who lives here and had been sleeping nights at the house since her mother's fall, had just gone home. Mr Wilson called Mrs. J.W. Mann, their nearest neighbor, who called the doctor, and sent for Mrs. Jeffers. Mrs. Wilson passed away in about 30 minutes apparently without suffering. She had been in failing health for a number of years, and was rarely able to leave her home. She will be greatly missed by her many friends near and in Chadron. Elender L. Myers, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John E. Myers, was born in Morgan County, Indiana January 13, 1843. On November 14, 1861 she was married to Thomas J. Wilson who had returned home after having served for a period of three months with the Union army. The following summer Mr. Wilson reinlisted for three years, or the duration of the war, leaving his bride of a few months in their Indiana home. After the war closed, Mr. and Mrs. Wilson moved to MIssouri, where they lived for 19 years. In the spring of 1885 they came to Dawes County as members of the Sweat colony and settled on a homestead in the Little Bordeaux Valley about six miles east of Chadron. Here they experienced their joys and sorrows and hardships incident to pioneer life. In 1911 they moved to Chadron which has since been their home. Mrs. Wilson passed on to be with the Lord last Thursday morning aged82 years, 4 months, and 15 days. Eleven children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Wilson. Three died in infancy, the oldest Citha Jane, who became the wife of John A. Butler, died September 22, 1924. Those living children are as follows: Edward J. of Portland, Oregon; Mary E., the wife of Grant Blinn of Edgement, S.D.; Sarah C., the wife of Wm. Jeffers of Chadron; Martha E., the wife of A. C. Riemenschneider of Cody, Nebraska; Thomas J. of Spencer, Wyoming; John E. and James Curtis, Scottsbluff, Nebraska. Mrs. Wilson was converted in early life and united with the Methodist church. In recent years she was a member of the Holiness association with headquarters at Gordon. She was a kind neighbor, a loving wife and mother and a devoted disciplie of the Lord. All of the children were home for the funeral which was held from the Methodist church, Monday afternoon, conducted by Professor Wilson and Ralph Myers.
