Description	:	Glenham -- The funeral for Elenora Spiry, 76, of Glenham will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Jacobi Lutheran Church in Glenham. The Rev. Stephen Daley will officiate. Burial will be in the Glenham Cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. There will be a prayer service at 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Read More	Glenham -- The funeral for Elenora Spiry, 76, of Glenham will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Jacobi Lutheran Church in Glenham. The Rev. Stephen Daley will officiate. There will also be visitation for one hour prior to the service Monday at the church in Glenham. She died Thursday, Sept. 21, 2000, at St. Alexius Hospital in Bismarck, N.D. Elenora Julia Horst was born March 3, 1924, to Reinhold and Magdalena (Schock) Horst in Java. She grew up on her parents' farm east of Java and attended a rural country school. She married Raymond Spiry on Nov. 25, 1945, in Java. They purchased a farm south of Glenham. Their home burned down and they then moved a trailer home onto the place, which they lived in until they bought another home. They lived on the farm until 1952, when they sold it and moved to Raymond, Minn. While living there, he worked for an egg and feed produce and worked construction. They then moved to Clara City, Minn., where he worked as a police officer and a night watchman, and she worked for seven years as a housekeeper at the Clara City Nursing Home. They made their home in Minnesota for 32 years. In 1985, they bought her father's home in Glenham, where she had since resided. She was a member of St. Jacobi Lutheran Church in Glenham. While living in Minnesota, she enjoyed watching Major League Baseball's Minnesota Twins play and she was also enjoyed fishing, especially on Lake Oahe near Mobridge. She also made quilts for her grandchildren. Survivors include her husband of Glenham; two sons, David Spiry and Joel Spiry, both of Glenham; one daughter, Linda (Loren) Weers of Aberdeen; one brother, Alvin Horst of Glenham; four sisters, Edna Voshall of North Bend, Wash., Cora Sandmeier of Glenham, Viola Goetz of Java, and Priscella Fadness of Walla Walla, Wash.; and three grandsons. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and one sister. Casketbearers will be Loren Weers, Chris Weers, Mitchell Weers, Matt Weers, Wayne Sandmeier and Nathan Sandmeier.
