Elenore was born April 4, 1928 at Raeville, Nebraska, the ninth of ten children born to Frank and Katherine (Malek) Voichahoske. She was baptized on April 22, 1928 at Raeville, in Boone County, Nebraska in the St. Boneventure Catholic Church. Elenore was also confirmed in the Catholic faith. Elenore was born April 4, 1928 at Raeville, Nebraska, the ninth of ten children born to Frank and Katherine (Malek) Voichahoske. She was baptized on April 22, 1928 at Raeville, in Boone County, Nebraska in the St. Boneventure Catholic Church. Elenore was also confirmed in the Catholic faith. She grew up and received her education from St. Edward, Nebraska, graduating from St. Edward High School with the class of 1945. She then pursued her nursing credentials at the Columbus Hospital School of Nursing in Seattle, Washington, where she graduated as a Registered Nurse in 1951. Elenore began her career in Holdrege at the Brewster Hospital and later was employed by the Phelps Memorial Health Center when the hospital opened and continued her career until her retirement following 41 years of service. On November 25, 1953 she was united in marriage to John G. Nelson and to this union five children were born: John, James, Mark, Daniel and Angela. The family made their home on the family farm northeast of Loomis. She was a member of the All Saints Catholic Church in Holdrege. Elenore enjoyed needlepoint, cross-stitch and tending to her garden. Most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She leaves to mourn her passing her husband, John of rural Loomis; four children: John Nelson of Phoenix, Arizona, Jim Nelson and his wife, Julie of rural Loomis, Mark Nelson and his wife, Ann of Omaha, Nebraska and Angela Wade of Phoenix; six grandchildren: Jodi Booe and her husband, Ross of Loomis, Jeffrey Nelson of Loomis, Jacquelyn Johnson and her husband, Justin of Holdrege, Stephanie Jacobson and her husband, Gary of Kearney, Nebraska, Jason Nelson and his wife, Farren of Loomis and Jordan Nelson of Omaha; six great-grandchildren: Paige, Ashlea, Brendan, Christian, Lane and Cale; one brother, Edward Voichahoske and his wife, Marcy of Fullerton, Nebraska; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Besides her parents, Elenore was preceded in death by her son, Daniel in 1993; four brothers: Joseph, Dennis, Bernard and Norbert Voichahoske and four sisters: Mary Voichahoske, Esther Casey, Alice Divis and Jean Brown.
