Description	:	From the Valley Echo, 11/25/1909: Eli Beight Unity township lost another of its pioneers, when on Saturday Eli Beight, living north of Unity, responded to the beck of the Death Angel. Had he lived until Jan. 31, 1910, he would have been 79 years of age, and he was born on the place where he died, having lived there his entire life save for three years in which he lived in New Springfield. Read More	From the Valley Echo, 11/25/1909: Eli Beight Unity township lost another of its pioneers, when on Saturday Eli Beight, living north of Unity, responded to the beck of the Death Angel. Had he lived until Jan. 31, 1910, he would have been 79 years of age, and he was born on the place where he died, having lived there his entire life save for three years in which he lived in New Springfield. His wife preceded him to the better land some eighteen year ago, and of the eleven children, six survive, all of whom were at the funeral except Wilson who lives in Los Angeles. Deceased when in his prime was an active and progressive citizen, widely known and much esteemed. The last few years found him greatly enfeebled in health, a slight stroke nine months ago leaving him practically helpless since. Funeral services occurred Monday conducted by the pastor of the deceased, Rev. Geier, who was assisted by Rev. Gray of this city. Interment was made at the cemetery at the Brick church, the remains being in charge of Undertaker Moore. Obituary sent courtesy of Debra Felger.
