Description | : | Elijah's parents were David and Mary Falk who moved from Greenville, Pennsylvania to Hancock Co., Ohio in 1845. Elijah became part owner in a sawmill. After the deaths of his parents Elijah left Ohio in 1878 with his family to join his oldest brother Noah, who was already operating a lucrative lumbering business in northern California. He learned the skills of a millwright which he used to design and construct more lumber mills in the redwood region than any other man.
