She came to Cherokee county in 1885. On March 10, 1888, she was married to P. M. Peterson. The couple settled on a farm seven miles south of Cherokee. The couple had 10 children, four having preceded their mother in death. Left to mourn her passing are: Her husband; five sons, Carl and Paul of Cherokee, Guy of Washington, D. C., John of Belville, Ill., Ben of Sanborn; a daughter, Esther of Storm Lake; 29 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Six of her grandsons served as pallbearers, carrying her to her last resting place in Good Hope cemetery. IN MEMORY I cannot say, and I will not say That she is dead. She is just away!
