Description	:	South Dakota census of 1880 has Elisabeth and 4 siblings listed as having died of diphtheria in February of 1880. They lived in a sod house along the Pflugrath (or Plumb) Creek approximately 2 1/2 miles southwest of Scotland, Dakota Territory. She is buried at the German Reformed Church cemetery (also known as the Neth Cemetery) along 425th Av, northwest of their farm. Family legend shares that Phillippina knew that she was not going to live and asked to be buried in the same casket as her little sister, Elisabeth. They lived in a sod house along the Pflugrath (or Plumb) Creek approximately 2 1/2 miles southwest of Scotland, Dakota Territory. She is buried at the German Reformed Church cemetery (also known as the Neth Cemetery) along 425th Av, northwest of their farm. Family legend shares that Phillippina knew that she was not going to live and asked to be buried in the same casket as her little sister, Elisabeth. Also, the children's bodies were kept in the barn until they could be buried. This would make sense if they died in February as the barn would preserve their bodies until their parents were able to bury them and the quarantine was lifted. Elisabeth's parents lost all of their (7) children within 9 days of each other, including 2 sets of twin boys. They had previously lost 3 more children before immigrating to Dakota Territory. From the 1880 CENSUS and the book SOUTH DAKOTA HISTORICAL COLLECTIONS, Volume 10, 1920, the following are 5 children listed: NAMES OF THE PERSONS WHO DIED IN THE PORTION OF DAKOTA TERRITORY NOW SOUTH DAKOTA DURING THE YEAR ENDING 31 MAY 1880. (As shown in the U.S. Census 1880) BON HOMME COUNTY:  FLOOKROAT, ELIZABETH, age 3 years, born in -Dakota, died in February diphtheria. FLOOKROAT, FILAPENA, aged 14, born in Russia, died in February of diphtheria. FLOOKROAT, FREDERICK, age 1 year, born in Dakota, died in February of diphtheria. FLOOKROAT, JACOB, age 5 years, born in Dakota, died in February of diphtheria. FLOOKROAT, MICHEL, age 1 year, born in Dakota, died in February of diphtheria. Their father's obituary stated: "To this union were born 14 children, nine sons and five daughters. Two of the sons and one daughter died in Russia and during an epidemic of diphtheria when the family resided in South Dakota five sons and two daughters died."
