Description	:	South Dakota census of 1880 has Phillippina listed as having died of diphtheria in February of 1880, along with 4 siblings - all the children in the family died of diphtheria within 9 days. The Pflugrath family lived in a sod house along the Pflugrath (or Plumb) Creek approximately 2 1/2 miles southwest of Scotland, Dakota Territory. She is buried at the German Reformed Frieden's Church along 425th Av to the northwest of their farm that they homesteaded in 1874. Locals know this cemetery as the "Neth Cemetery" (pronounced NAYTH). Family legend shares that Phillippina knew that she was not going to live and asked to be buried in the same casket as her baby sister. She also asked that the pillow be removed that was propping her head up, in order to hasten her death. Also that the children’s bodies were kept in the barn until the could be buried. Reform Cemetery is actually "Reformed Frieden's Cemetery" as the marker states, and known to the local people as "Neth Cemetery". When we went to research this cemetery, everybody in the area knew where Neth Cemetery was, but only a few knew it was called the Reformed Frieden's cemetery! (pronounced NAYTH).
