Hall, 94, a Civil War veteran, and a resident of Kansas since the late sixties, died in a local hospital today. He was born in Portland, Me., November 22, 1839, and enlisted in the Union army in 1962, serving in the Tenth Illinois cavalry the remainder of the war. After the war he came to Kansas, and settled near Auburn. He was married in 1870 to Miss Emma L. Betzer. His wife died in February, 1898 in Manhattan. He had been a resident of Kansas since coming here in the late 60's, being engaged in farming until 1928, when he retired and went to live in the Leavenworth military home. He was spending this winter with a grandson, Walter Hall, near Lawrence, until February 28, when he became ill. Since that time he has been in a local hospital, where he died. He is survived by five children, Fred W. and Cassius Hall, of Hoyt, Charles M. Hall, Bellingham, Wash., and Wilmer H. Hall, Maryville, Mo. Two daughters died in infancy and another daughter, Mrs. Maye E. May, died three years ago. The funeral will be held at 2 o'clock Tuesday from the Sanders-McMichael mortuary.
