Harris, died yesterday (Thursday) afternoon at 5 o'clock, at their home in this place. There was much suffering in the last few days and some delirium toward the close, but her death was peaceful and quiet--just a falling asleep. Mrs. Harris was the daughter of Thomas and Mary Kirkpatrick, was born in Guernsey Co., Ohio, and was 66 years old last May. She came to Kansas in '68, and was married to Mr. Harris the following year, we believe. She had been a member of the M.E. church for more than half a century. There are no children by this marriage, but those by Mr. Harris' former wife loved Mrs. Harris as a mother and were well beloved by her. Hers was a lovely Christian character, and she died in the full triumph of her faith, praising the Lord continually in the last days--a saint falling asleep in the arms of her Savior. The warm sympathy of the community is with Mr. Harris in his great bereavement. The funeral services will be held at the home this afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev. Mr. Chrysler, and the body will be laid in Pleasant View.
