About two weeks ago she was standing on a lounge to wind the clock and in getting down she slipped and fell. Though she suffered severely from the fall the direct cause of her death was from a blood clot that formed in her hip. Funeral services were held last Thursday afternoon at the Methodist church. F. Barnes and Forest Hudson. Burial was made in the Schaller cemetery. Those attending the funeral from out of town besides the immediate family were: Mrs. F. F. Parker, Mrs. H. C. Moeller and son Eldon, of Decatur, Nebr.; Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Parker of Walthill, Nebr.; Mr. and Mrs. James Drake of Holstein; Miss Blanche Parker of Des Moines; Mr. and Mrs. Lincoln Gurney, Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Gurney, Mr. and Mrs. Olaf Olsen and Mrs. Martin Mulgard, of Alta; Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Adams and Leamont Thorpe, of Nemaha; Mr. and Mrs. Francis Thorpe of Lake View; Henry Kimm of Pierson; Mr. and Mrs. Loren Merkley and Mrs. H. Grohe of Sac City. Eliza Annabel Story was born in Dubuque county, Iowa, near Epworth, April 27, 1859. She died in Sioux City, Iowa April 22, 1929, lacking but a few days of her seventieth birthday. Her father served in the Union army in the Civil war and was killed in action, leaving a family of six children to the care of her mother, who, with the heroism of the war widows of that day, successfully accomplished the task of rearing these fatherless children. Mrs. Taubman was educated in the public schools and in Epworth seminary and entered upon the occupation of teaching. In 1884, while teaching in Eureka township of Sac county, she met Mr. Thomas Edward Taubman to whom she was married on March 31, 1885. For some twenty years this couple lived on a farm northwest of Schaller. In 1906 they removed to Schaller, which place was her home until the end of her life. She was the mother of three sons, all of whom died in infancy, and of two daughters who survive – Mrs. Emma Thorpe of Lake View, and Mrs. Leota Kimm of Pierson. Five grandchildren are children of these daughters. She is also survived by one sister, Mrs. F. F. Parker of Decatur, Neb. and two brothers, S. A. Story of Dubuque and W. M. Story of Epworth. Mrs. Taubman was a charter member of the Order of the Eastern Star of Schaller and was an active participant in the work of the Woman's Relief Corps. In her youth she became a member of the Christian church and maintained a high standard of religious life. Her passing will be mourned by a host of neighbors and friends. The whole community joins in sympathy for the daughter sand the aged husband who in grave physical condition sustains this added sorrow.
