Description	:	Eliza was the thirteenth of sixteen children born to William Glass and Maria Leenders, on the island of Tristan da Cunha in the South Atlantic Ocean. Following the death of her father in 1853, Eliza left Tristan da Cunha with her mother, going first to South Africa, then on to New London, Connecticut USA. Around 1859, she married Thomas Ford in New London, where she remained for the rest of her life, passing away in Sep 1917. No grave has yet been found for Eliza.
