| Description | : | Eliza Hemby was a daughter of John Hemby (c. 1790-1820s) and his wife Elizabeth "Betsy" Ritch (1797-1883). She was born in the section of Mecklenburg which became Union in 1842. Eliza married Andrew Starns/Starnes (1804-1899) at the Morning Star Lutheran Church on August 11, 1840. I believe she was his second wife. He was a son of Jacob Starns and his wife Esther Wentz. Eliza and Andrew had a great many children: The inscription on Eliza's stone reads: "Another Sweet Flower Blossoms In The Dews Of Heaven." |
