Description	:	Eliza Jane, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Herrel was born in Johnson County, Indiana, August 20, 1840, and died at her home in Hayesville, November 6, 1924, aged 84 years, 2 months and 16 days. In 1876 she came to Keokuk county, Iowa where she has since resided. In 1877 she was united in marriage to David Utterback. To this union three children were born. They are Mrs. Julia Jones of Martinsburg, Miss Lulu of Hayesville and Earl, who died in his infancy. She leaves to mourn their loss, the husband and companion of the years, the two daughters, five grandchildren... In 1876 she came to Keokuk county, Iowa where she has since resided. In 1877 she was united in marriage to David Utterback. To this union three children were born. They are Mrs. Julia Jones of Martinsburg, Miss Lulu of Hayesville and Earl, who died in his infancy. She leaves to mourn their loss, the husband and companion of the years, the two daughters, five grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Margaret Boaz of California, many other relatives and a host of friends. Early in life she united with the Christian church and has ever remained constant in her faith. Her seeing eyes looked beyond the kingdoms of this world to the kingdom of the next. She was one of those of whom it could be said, "she was not afraid to die". Her place in the affections of others may be best summed up in the endearing term by which all knew her, "Aunt Jane". Her loving heart ever went out to others. Home, husband, children, grandchildren, and friends all meant much to her. It is a beautiful thought to think, that doubtless a beautiful soul will be awaiting the coming of her loved ones. Funeral services were held at the home in Hayesville Saturday afternoon, November 9th conducted by Roy C. Leeds, pastor of the Christian Church at Sigourney, Interment was made in Pennington Cemetery.
