The obituary appears elsewhere in this issue of The Enterprise. OBITUARY - Eliza S. Dille Eliza S. Osborn was born in La Porte County, Indiana, November 8, 1862, and passed to her reward Friday, October 13, 1933 at the age of 70 years, eleven months and five days. At an early age she enlisted in the ranks of our Lord Jesus Christ and became a diligent student and follower of His will and word. She became a student at Valpariso University and for several years specialized in elocution and art. She was united in marriage to Sylvester N. Dille November 20, 1888. To this union were born five children. The first born, a daughter, died in infancy. Mary, the third daughter, also preceded her mother in death. Mr. and Mrs. Dille came to Holyoke, Colorado shortly after their marriage and continued making their home near this place until the death of Mr. Dille in 1926. Mrs. Dille was always interested in church and community welfare work. For a long time she served as a Bible school teacher. She was a charter member of the Church of Christ of which she remained a faithful and devoted member until she answered the great roll call. She assisted in the organization of the local W.C.T.U. and served in official capacities for some time. She was the artist and donor of the beautiful picture that now graces the back of baptistry of the Church of Christ and, assisted by Mrs. G.W. Garland, painted a similar picture for the same purpose at the local Baptist church. Her faithful Christian life and teaching exerted a powerful and lasting influence for good among relatives and friends. She leaves three children, Mrs. Clarence Hagerman, Elizabeth Dille of Holyoke and Paul O. Dille of St. Paul, Minnesota, also one sister, Mrs. Rachel M. Eaton of Los Angeles, California, three grandchildren and a great host of other relatives and friends to mourn her departure. Dille, residing near Holyoke, was celebrated on Thursday evening, November 20, at the Christian church in Holyoke. About two hundred invited guests, neighbors and friends of this couple were present and participated in the celebration. Mrs. C.D. Walrod favored the audience with a very appropriate solo entitled, "O, Promise Me," Mrs. C.H. Moore played the organ as the wedding party, Mr. and Mrs. S.N. Dille, attendants Mr. and Mrs. J.H. Painter, Dr. and Mrs. F.M. Smith and Mr. and Mrs. W.H. Show entered the audience room and took their position in front of the pulpit. Rev. B.E. Parker, pastor of the Christian church, pronounced a wedding ceremony very fitting and appropriate for the second marriage of a couple who had enjoyed twenty-five years of married life together. Following the wedding ceremony Rev. B.E. Parker and Mrs. Rena Abbey favored the audience with a vocal duet after which the guests proceeded to offer hearty congratulations to the twice wedded couple and a general, good social was enjoyed by all. It was soon announced that refreshments were to be served in the basement and it is needless to say that social enjoyment ran high while the guests were seated around the table partaking of the good things set before them by the ladies of the Christian church. The invitations that no presents would be accepted but a silver offering of $63.55 was made to the Christian church. Among the guests were many old-time friends who had been intimate with this couple during most of their wedded life and this was an occasion long to be remembered by those present as one of the most enjoyable social gatherings of their experience and the guests left for their homes wishing this worthy couple many more years of happy wedded life.
