She married Fred Bangert on February 16, 1922, at Zion Lutheran Church in Guide Rock, Nebraska. They lived on a farm southwest of Lawrence, Nebraska for 24 years before moving in to Lawrence, where she lived for 30 years. She moved to Blue Hill four years ago. She was a charter member of Ladies Aid of Zion Lutheran Church. She was a charter member of the American Legion Auxiliary and a member of the W.W. I Auxiliary both of Lawrence, Nebraska. She was a member of the Calvary Lutheran Church in Rosemont. Elizabeth passed away May 3, 1994, at the Community Care Center of Blue Hill, Nebraska. Her husband Fred preceded her in death October 11, 1984. Surviving are two sons, LeRoy of Omaha and Delbert of Brookshire, Texas; one daughter, Mary Krull of Crete; two brothers, Henry Alber of Blue Hill and Roy Alber of Hastings; two sisters, Rose Bangert of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Pearl Thompson of Guide Rock; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Friday, May 6 at Calvary Lutheran Church in Rosemont with Rev. Fred Berry officiating. Mary Lou Pohlmeier was organist. Gina Cacek, soloist, sang "How Great Thou Art" and the congregation sang "Asleep In Jesus", "For Me to Live Is Jesus", and "I'm But A Stranger Here". Pallbearers were Chester Alber, Richard Alber, Don Bartels, Gerald Hartman, Roger Alber and Lester Alber. Honorary pallbearers were Norman Alber, Clarence Bangert, Victor Alber, Oscar Schroeder, Edgar Alber and Al Hoelting. Interment was at Evergreen Cemetery at Lawrence, Nebraska. Memorials were directed to Calvary Lutheran Church in Rosemont. Merten-Butler Mortuary of Blue Hill, Nebraska was in charge of arrangements.
