Description	:	Elizabeth A. (Betty) Jackson passed into God's hands on Sunday, September 10th, 2017, after a brief illness. Born on Hobson Street in Napoleon, Ohio on September 23, 1931, she was a middle child of Fred and Francis (Nartker) Bost. Betty worked at both Healman's Grocery store and GC Murphy while in school and graduated from Napoleon High School in 1949. In 1952, she married James R. She was a loan... Read More	Elizabeth A. (Betty) Jackson passed into God's hands on Sunday, September 10th, 2017, after a brief illness. Born on Hobson Street in Napoleon, Ohio on September 23, 1931, she was a middle child of Fred and Francis (Nartker) Bost. Betty worked at both Healman's Grocery store and GC Murphy while in school and graduated from Napoleon High School in 1949. In 1952, she married James R. Jackson, Sr. who proceeded her in death in 2003. After graduation, Betty worked for Bokerman Insurance for six years and as the church secretary at St. Augustine Catholic church for two years. She was a loan officer at National City Bank/Sky Bank for over 20 years and retired in 1991. She was very active in St. Augustine Catholic Church, holding officer positions in the Rosary Altar Society, served on parish council, the finance committee, Liturgical Committee, was an usher and an Eucharistic Lay Minister. She taught gym classes and was a Brownie and Girl Scout Leader in the church school. Betty volunteered for the Red Cross, scheduling donors and working blood drives. She also served with the United Way, was a board member of the American Heart Association and was the county memorial chairman for 15 years. She also served as a member of a number of Board of Directors including the Henry County Senior Center Governing Board including as its treasurer for 10 years and the Riverview Terrace Board as its secretary. Betty enjoyed 20 years with the Child Appreciation League serving in all offices. She was a member of the Democratic Party and was active in Youth for Understanding where she and her husband hosted three foreign exchange students and placed many more. She also participated in the Napoleon Band Boosters serving as its treasurer. She enjoyed her summers at Coldwater Lake Michigan, winters in Venice, FL. and playing bridge with her close friends. She was a graduate of Commercial Lending School and attended Northwest Community College. Betty is survived by her 4 children, Sandi (Jim) Snyder - Engadine, MI., Jim (Deb) Jackson - Greenfield, IN., Susan (Brian) Gray - Napoleon and Jan Dishop - Napoleon. She will also be missed by her 11 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, brother, Bob (Kay) Bost - Napoleon and especially her dog Muffin. She was also preceded in death by siblings, Harold Bost and Mary Elling. Visitation will be held at Rodenberger Funeral Home in Napoleon from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 13th with Rosary at 7:30 p.m. Services will be held at St. Augustine Catholic Church on September 14th at 11:00 AM with interment to follow at St. Augustine Catholic Cemetery. Those that wish to make a memorial contribution are asked to consider St. Augustine Catholic School or CHP Defiance Inpatient Hospice Care Center.
