Read More	Elizabeth (Liz) Worrell, 91 of Medford, Ore. passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2016. Elizabeth was born in Republic, Wash. in 1925 and was raised in Tacoma, Wash. where she lived with her mother, Edna A. (Rowland) Terry and her sister, Margaret M. (Terry) Schwarz. Elizabeth also had an older sister, Frances (Terry) Huston, and a brother, Robert L. Terry that lived with their father, Laurence Terry and his wife, Bernice in the Chicago area. Elizabeth, known as Betty Terry when she was growing up, graduated from Tacoma's Stadium High School in 1943. Betty enjoyed singing and was a member of her high school Glee Club, was also a soloist in high school, and at her church, Mason United Methodist Church which she attended during her years in the Tacoma area. She also played piano and enjoyed sewing for herself and her family. During the years of 1941-1943, Betty was invited to sing with a group that entertained at the USO center for the troops at the Ft. Lewis Army base. It is also where she met her future husband, William (Bill) Worrell. Upon Bill's return to Tacoma from his deployment to Dutch Harbor, Alaska during W.W.II, he married his sweetheart, Betty in March of 1944. Soon after, they welcomed their first child, William H. Worrell Jr. in May 1945. Three years later they welcomed their second child, Daniel T. Worrell in Oct 1948. During those early years, Betty was a stay-at-home mom in Tacoma. In May 1956 they welcomed their third child, a daughter, Joyce I. Worrell and eleven months later they welcomed their fourth child, David R. Worrell. In 1952, Betty began working at Safeway in Tacoma as a journeyman grocery store checker. Betty was able to take her trade with her when the family moved to Great Falls, Mont. in 1963 when Bill was transferred. In 1968 Bill was transferred again to Medford, Ore. and Betty was once again able to use her trade to work at Sherm's Thunderbird Market. The years of standing all day as a checker took a toll on her back. A few years later, Betty began to study for the Oregon Real Estate Exam and attained her license in 1971 and began working at Bert Pree Realty. Betty decided to use a more professional name and used her abbreviated name (Liz) Worrell. Liz was very successful and enjoyed selling real estate. She also worked at Greater Oregon Real Estate as well as Real Estaters and Lorber Realty. Liz was known by her friends in real estate for her quick wit and for her knack for writing poetry and stories. Our mother enjoyed traveling and cruises with our dad and daughter, Joyce. She also enjoyed trailer camping trips with the whole family on the Oregon coast and holiday times spent together. She sacrificed so much for us. Her proudest achievements were the four of us and her most precious memories were the times of nurturing and watching us excel in our lives. She was our encourager and our cheerleader for every good thing that we were involved in. She was the anchor of our family and was a true blessing from God to us, more than she will ever know. We will cherish our memories of her and we will miss her beyond words. Elizabeth is survived by her four children; seven grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. Elizabeth and her husband William would have celebrated their 72nd wedding anniversary on March 9, 2016. They passed away within 128 days of each other. A memorial service is planned for them in June, in Tacoma, Wash. where they will be interred together at the Tacoma Mausoleum.
