Description	:	Elizabeth A. Headley married Charles H. McFarling on March 31, 1860, in Van Buren County, Iowa. It appears that Charles might have died during the Civil War or shortly after he was mustered out. Service records show that he enlisted on June 13, 1861, in Iowa; enlisted in Company I, Iowa 1st Cavalry Regiment on Aug. 3, 1861; and was mustered out on Sept. 29, 1864, at Little Rock, Arkansas. [sic] Davis on April 5, 1866 in Wapello County, Iowa. ------------------------ Obituary From “Ottumwa Courier,” Monday, July 17, 1916: Mrs. James N. [sic] Davis. Elizabeth A., wife of James N. [sic] Davis, 613 North Wapello street, passed away at the Ottumwa hospital at 10 o’clock this morning aged 79 years. She was taken to the hospital about noon on Sunday, death resulting from heart trouble and old age. She came to Agency township with her father, John Headley at the age of twelve years and has been a resident of Wapello county for sixty-seven years. She is survived by her husband and one son, F.M. Headley of this city. Funeral services will be carried out according to her request. They will be held at Sullivan’s undertaking rooms Wednesday morning at 9 o’clock conducted by Rev. E.W.F. Holler. Interment will take place in Shaul cemetery. An invitation is extended to all old soldiers and members of the W.R.C. to attend the services, as her husband was a member of Company D of the Ninteenth [sic] Indiana regiment.
