Marine was born Dec. 30, 1933, in Muscatine County, Iowa, the daughter of William and Katherine Ayres Marine. She married Kirk Grunder April 18, 1953, in San Pedro, Calif. She ran Ann's Craft Corner in Pleasant Valley. She also was the activities director at Riverview Manor Nursing Home, Pleasant Valley, and was a bus driver for the Pleasant Valley school system. She was president of the Altar and Rosary Society at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Wilton. She was a council member, catechism teacher and long-time choir member of Our Lady of the River Catholic Church. She enjoyed working in her garden, knitting, sewing and needlepoint. She was also an avid supporter of scouting, leading each of her children to its highest rank. Survivors include the widower; a daughter and son-in-law, Paula and Steven Wakeland, Pleasant Valley; sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Kathleen Grunder, Chesapeake, Va., Thomas and Penny Grunder, Beloit, Wis., William and Stacey Grunder and Kevin and Penny Grunder, all of Pleasant Valley, Douglas and Sherry Grunder, Mount Vernon, Iowa, and Mark and Kristin Grunder, Troy, Ill.; 17 grandchildren; her mother, Pleasant Valley; and a brother and sister-in-law, Alvin and Phyllis Marine, Wilton, Iowa. http://www.qconline.com/obituaries/obituaries/article_a924436f-e638-53b4-accc-65caeb0a34e7.html
