Description	:	Elizabeth was named after her paternal grandmother, Elizabeth A. (Walker) Meek. The younger Elizabeth had a twin, Hiram Meek. He was a Brevet Major in the Civil War, III Volunteer Infantry of Ohio. He died on 14 Oct 1909 in Hicksville, Ohio. At age 52, Elizabeth married 13 October 1878 in Defiance County, Ohio to widower Addison Goodin, 60. He was born February 1818 in Ohio; died 1907 in Hicksville, Ohio.* After Elizabeth's sister Sidnah Garrett died in 1872, Elizabeth raised several of her children; Lizzie, 15, and Frank, 12, are with Elizabeth & Addison in the 1880 census of Hicksville, Ohio. Elizabeth & Addison are in the 1900 census of Hicksville, Ohio. After he died, she lived with her sister & brother-in-law, Beulah & John Sensenbacher in Hicksville, Ohio. When Elizabeth died in 1907, age 81, she was cremated, and Beulah kept the urn of ashes on a ledge beside the stairway to the second floor of her home. Beulah died in 1912, and her daughter Etta slipped the urn of Elizabeth's ashes beneath the pillow in Beulah's coffin; so the two sisters are buried together, although the gravestone names only Beulah. This true tale of Elizabeth's ashes was told to me half a century ago by Etta's daughter Lyndall Coulter, who was 17 when she watched her mother move the urn from the stairway ledge to the nearby coffin over a century ago. *Addison Goodin was married 1st on 28 June 1838 in Wayne County, Ohio, to Jane Albertson, daughter of Edward Albertson & Abigail Aten; born 1821 in Pennsylvania; died 1877 at Hicksville, Ohio; at least three children: Edward A. (died 1902), Mary, & Letitia.
