Description	:	Elizabeth A. GAIER, 91, of 29 North Limestone Street, died Friday morning in her residence following several years of declining health. She was born on September 15, 1897 in Reynoldsville, Pennsylvania the daughter of Joseph and Florence (ADELSBERGER) SCHOLL. She was a 1920 graduate of the old City Hospital School of Nursing and worked as a nurse for the City of Springfield Health Department and the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company. She married her husband, Laurence C. GAIER in August of 1924, and later began the GAIER Furniture Company, where she was the owner. Mrs. GAIER was a member of St.... Read More	Elizabeth A. She was born on September 15, 1897 in Reynoldsville, Pennsylvania the daughter of Joseph and Florence (ADELSBERGER) SCHOLL. She was a 1920 graduate of the old City Hospital School of Nursing and worked as a nurse for the City of Springfield Health Department and the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company. She married her husband, Laurence C. GAIER in August of 1924, and later began the GAIER Furniture Company, where she was the owner. Mrs. GAIER was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church, attending St. Teresa, and was a charter member of the Catholic Ladies of Columbia. She was also a member of the Ohio State Nursing Association, District Number 11. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Dorothy and Edwin FRICK of Eaton, Ohio, Betty and Paul BARTRUFF of Springfield; a son and daughter-in-law, Robert L. and Sandra GAIER; one sister, Mrs. Robert (Josephine) MINNICK of Springfield; two brothers, Charles SCHOLL of Du Bois, Pennsylvania, and Gerald and wife, Alta SCHOLL of Reynoldsville, Pennsylvania; eight grandchildren and two-step grandchildren; 11 great and five step-great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Marie LONEY and Cecilia GAIER. She was preceded in death by her husband, Laurence in May of 1957, two sisters, Alice and Mary LONDON, and two brothers, Frank and Kenneth SCHOLL. Her body was taken to the Woods-Allgier Funeral Home where friends may call on Monday from 6-9 p.m. A funeral mass will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in St. Bernard Church with Fr. Donal Huebner officiating. Interment will follow in St. Bernard Cemetery. Memorial donations are requested to the St. Vincent DePaul Society or the donor's own choice.
