Description	:	Elizabeth Ann Zittle was the elder daughter of Sarah (née Summers) and John Zittle, born about 1836 in Washington County, Maryland, probably in or near Zittlestown. Elizabeth's mother died before 1845. Her father remarried in 1845, and died before 1850. Elizabeth Anne Zittle appears to have married Jacob Michael Alexander sometime in the mid-1860s, but neither marriage record nor an announcement have been found. The couple are known to have had one daughter, Sarah Elizabeth, born in 1866.* The 1880 U.S. Census indicates that Elizabeth Alexander was widowed.† She is not found in...
