Hunter and Ray Clause, sang Mrs. Harten's favorite, "Rock of Ages," and "The Old Rugged Cross." The pallbearers were Cal Shadle of Ames, a former neighbor and friend, Cleve Sparks, M. J. Rinker, A. R. Doran, E. R. Hensley and Robert Clause. The flower committee was Mrs. A. R. Doran, Mrs. H. A. Bruns and Mrs. E. P. Kenan, assisted by W. B. Hunter and E. P. Kenan. There were many beautiful floral offerings which testified to the esteem in which she was held. Interment was made in the Beaver cemetery. She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband, two daughters, three grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Peter Farley of Grand Junction, Iowa, Mrs. Bert Last of Des Moines, and one brother, Daniel of Boxholm, together with a host of relatives and friends. Mrs. Harten will be greatly missed by the church, by her friends and in the community where she has resided for nearly half a century. The sympathy of the entire community goes out to those who are left to mourn her loss. OBITUARY - Elizabeth Bakley, daughter of Paul and Catherine Bakley was born near Fort Wayne, Indiana on May 20, 1870 and passed away at her home in Beaver, Iowa, Friday morning, March 27, at the age of 65 years, 10 months and 7 days. She was the ninth child in a family of eleven, four girls, seven boys. She was united in marriage near Beaver, to Chris Harten on November 28, 1894. To this union were born two daughters, Mrs. Harry Blanshan of Boone and Mrs. George Shimerda of Oxford Junction, Iowa. Mrs. Harten united with the Methodist church of Beaver, Ia., in 1910. She was elected communion Steward in 1911 and has faithfully filled that position since her election. She was a devoted Christian woman. Her greatest interests were in her home, her family and her church.
