Elizabeth "Betty" Herz-Brown, 84, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on June 3, 2015 in Vancouver, Washington. She was born November 18, 1930 in Battle Ground, Washington to parents, Philip and Eva Amoruso. Betty graduated from Battle Ground High School and in 1974 from the University of Portland, Magna Cum Laude, in Portland, Oregon. She worked for many years as a guardian ad litem for the State of Washington. Later, she worked as a care giver, bringing comfort and friendship as only she could with her quiet, sweet spirit. Her clients thought the world of her. Betty and Valentine were married in 1948, raising seven children, Michael (Debbie), Carol (Larry), Rick (Robin), Amy (Jack), Doug, Betsy, and Joe (Jenny). She was the proud Grandma to 14 and Great-Grandma to six. Betty was preceded in death by her husband Valentine in 1973. They created a home full of love for all of us. Betty was married to Gary M Brown Sr. for 30 years and also leaves four stepchildren, Gary Jr., Mike, Diana, and Jim; and several more to whom she was Grandma. They were all very good to Betty and loved her. Betty is also survived by her brother, Phil (Doris); sister, Rose; several nieces and nephews. She had a special place in her heart for her nephew, John, whom she loved very much. Betty gave us so much: a love of music, a love of nature, and a caring, loving ear. Burial was private at St. Mary's of Guadalupe Cemetery in Ridgefield, Washington and a family Celebration of Life also. Published in The Columbian, Vancouver, Washington on June 14, 2015
