A week later she was baptized in the Ev. Lutheran Church at Essen, Germany. After completing her course of studies in the common school of Essen and receiving the necessary instruction in God's word she was confirmed in the Lutheran church of that place and remained up until the time of her death a faithful member of that church. A week later she was baptized in the Ev. Lutheran Church at Essen, Germany. After completing her course of studies in the common school of Essen and receiving the necessary instruction in God's word she was confirmed in the Lutheran church of that place and remained up until the time of her death a faithful member of that church. At the age of 19 she was united in holy wedlock with Mr. August Sieck. Immediately after her marriage she immigrated with her husband to this country coming direct to Nebraska, where she homesteaded eighty acres of land two miles east of Germantown. Here she lived with her husband in peace and quietude for about thirty-eight years. Then retiring from the activities of the farm she moved to town. In June 1921 she experienced the rare pleasure of celebrating her fiftieth wedding anniversary in the presence of her childen and a number of relatives. Three weeks ago she became ill with an infection of the heart, soon she was compelled to take to her bed. Her condition grew worse from day to day, finally the hour of dissolution came last Sunday morning at 4:45 o'clock. She fell asleep in Jesus, at the age of 75 years, 1 month and 8 days. Those who mourn her departure from life are two children, Mrs. Maria Katt and Henry F. of Garland, six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, one brother, Mr. Henry Brauer, four step-brothers, three step-sisters and other relatives. Funeral services were held to her memory at Zion Lutheran church, Rev. T. Joeckel officiating. The remains were laid to rest at the Lutheran cemetery south of town.
