Elizabeth Brooks was born April 8, 1863, at Connellsville, Pennsylvania, where the father died when she was a small child. Elizabeth Brooks was born April 8, 1863, at Connellsville, Pennsylvania, where the father died when she was a small child. She moved with her mother and family to Thomson, Illinois, in 1870, then to Persia, in Harrison County, Iowa, in 1881. She married George Adamson June 25, 1885, at Persia, Iowa. To this union were born four children, two sons and two daughters. Mr. and Mrs. Adamson moved to Woodbury County in 1889, and took up their residence at a farm 2 1/2 miles southeast of Pierson that is known as the Christy Jones place. They lived there two years and then moved to the farm where William Knaack now lives and made that their home for 20 years. In 1911 they moved to Morningside, living first on 6th Ave., then on Lakeport Road, at which place she passed away. Mrs. Adamson had enjoyed the very best of health until the family met with an auto accident on November 18, 1930, from which she never fully recovered. Funeral services were held at the Memorial Funeral Home in Sioux City on Friday afternoon at 2:30 with Rev. J.A. McKenzie, pastor of the Christian Church of that city in charge. Interment was made in Graceland Cemetery. She is survived by her widower, George Adamson of Morningside, Miss Florence Adamson and Weldon Adamson residing at home, Friece Adamson of Glencoe, Illinois, and Mrs. Henry Todd of Correctionville; 12 grandchildren; one sister, Miss Cassie Brooks of Lake Andes, South Dakota; two brothers, Jake Brooks of Lake Andes, South Dakota, and John Brooks of Pierson.
