Description	:	George R. Adamson, son of John M. and Lydia Adamson, was born at Lafayette, Indiana, January 6, 1860. When one year of age he came with his parents to Columbus Junction, Iowa. Several years later he moved to Morning Sun, Iowa, where he operated a harness shop. From there he went to Persia, Iowa, where on June 25, 1885, he married Elizabeth Brooks, who passed away October 18, 1933. Adamson, son of John M. and Lydia Adamson, was born at Lafayette, Indiana, January 6, 1860. When one year of age he came with his parents to Columbus Junction, Iowa. Several years later he moved to Morning Sun, Iowa, where he operated a harness shop. From there he went to Persia, Iowa, where on June 25, 1885, he married Elizabeth Brooks, who passed away October 18, 1933. Mr. Adamson and his wife came to Woodbury County in 1889, residing on a farm 2 1/2 miles southeast of Pierson. After living there two years they moved to their farm which they had purchased and now owned by Wm. Knaack. In 1911 owing to his failing health, they moved to Morningside where he has since resided. Mr. Adamson was a great lover of horse and took great pleasure in making harnesses and equipment, whereby adding to their beauty. He passed away at their home at 2121 S. Helen St., April 2, 1938, after a lingering illness. Funeral services were held at the Winters Funeral Home in Morningside at 3 p.m. with Rev. Richard Burrows officiating. Burial was in Graceland Cemetery beside his wife. He is survived by four children, Miss Florence Adamson, Weldon Adamson of Morningside, Friece Adamson of Glencoe, Illinois, and Mrs. Henry Todd of Correctionville. He also leaves 13 grandchildren.
