Elizabeth Burke was born April 10, 1904 to John & Delia (Duffin) Burke at Greeley County, Neb. She attended school near Waubay. She married John L Becking on Oct 14, 1930, at Waubay. They farmed near Florence until the early 1940’s. They moved to Wheatland Township in Day County in 1947 and farmed there until he retired in 1962. They then moved into Webster. He died Nov 28, 1970. She worked at Myrtle’s Café & Pereboom’s Café in Webster and helped with Meals on Wheels. She entered Sun Dial Manor, Bristol, in March 1995. She was a member of the Senior Citizens in Webster and a member of the Beterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary. She enjoyed cooking and playing the piano. She was known for helping people. Survivors include two daughters, Marjorie (Gene) Anderson and Gladys (Arthur) Helwig both of Minneapolis; for sons, Laverne (Lu) Becking of Watertown, James (Ardys) Becking of Webster, and Loren (Shannon) Becking and Gerald (Kathy) Becking, both of Minneapolis; 23 grandchildren; and great grand-children.
