Description	:	Mrs. Elizabeth Gittins was born in Rhiwlas, Montgomeryshire, North Wales on Nov. 9th 1823. March 18th 1848 she was united in holy wedlock to Richard Gittins(07/12/1820-09/26/1881). Immigrated to America in June 1848, settled in New York Mills N.Y. for a time then moved to Racine, Wisconsin, in the following year and finally to Williamsburg, Iowa where she resided for over 35 years. She departed this live the 15th of January, 1903 and was buried the following Sunday, the 18th of Jan. in the family's last resting place in Oak Hill Cemetery. To mourn her loss are left two sons,... To mourn her loss are left two sons, W.R.(William Richard 12/27/1848-02/22/1929), T.E.(Thomas Edgar 06/10/1850-04/22/1917)of Williamsburg and a daughter Mrs. Robert(Mary Ann 1853-03/14/1915)Jones of Iowa Falls, and a host of grandchildren, three brothers and one sister, Mrs. Ann Evans of Williamsburg. Note: According to the Cemetery board Elizabeth Davies Gittins is buried in the cemetery lot 131. In 1894 when the house was built by W.R. Gittins in Williamsburg, Elizabeth moved in with that family until her death in 1903. Update: Elizabeth was born on the family farm named Rhiwlas, in Montgomeryshire county, Wales. Montgomeryshire is no longer used in Wales.
