Description	:	Elizabeth was the wife of Loyalist John Titus--perhaps his second wife with this name. Descendants of her son John Titus Jr. recollected her maiden surname as "Derlin." If Loyalist John Titus's older children had already received their inheritances from their father during his lifetime, Elizabeth would not have had a need to name them in her will even if they were her own children. Other reasons to surmise that Elizabeth was Loyalist John Titus's second wife are 1) the gap in years between the births of John's older children and that of his youngest son; and 2) that descendants of one of the older children recalled the Loyalist's wife name as Elizabeth Beagle or Beadle, not Derlin. The latter fact is the most compelling reason to think John had two wives. The gap in the children's birth years, based on ship and land records, might have been just a few years. Elizabeth's death reportedly occurred in May 1813. The source of this date is unclear; however, it is consistent with the probate of her will in June 1813. She was a resident of Waterborough, Queens Co., NB, at that time and is presumed to have died there.
