Description	:	Boone County Democrat September 25, 1908 Mrs. I. R. Hoyer died at her home in the Fifth ward on Tuesday evening at 9:11 o’clock after an illness of three years. Death was due to paralysis and the deceased suffered four strokes since her illness began. The last one occurred a couple of months ago and all through the days and weeks of suffering she was ever patient. Mrs. Hoyer, nee Elizabeth Huntsberger, was born near Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, December 28, 1836. March 31, 1857, she was united in marriage to Isaac R. Hoyer in Ohio. In that year they removed to Iowa and settled on a farm three miles west of Boonsboro. Five years later they removed to Boonsboro and resided there until her death. The aged husband survives but no children blessed the union. The other surviving relatives are C.W. Hoyer of Ida Grove, two sisters, one in Ohio and the other in Indiana. Mr. and Mrs. James Barclay of Peoples Township are brother in law and sister in law of the deceased. Mrs. Hoyer was a consistent Christian and a member of the Marion street M.E. church, where for years she took an active part in church work. The funeral will be held this, Friday afternoon at 1:00 o’clock from the residence, 712 State Street, and from the Marion street M.E. church at 2:00 o’clock. Interment will take place in Linwood cemetery. In the death of Mrs. Hoyer Boone County loses another of its pioneer residents whose death will be deeply regretted.
