Kurth, they married in 1867 in Switzerland. ~~~~~~ Obituary ~~~~~~ The funeral of Mrs. Eliza Kurth, where death occurred January 3, following an illness of about two weeks duration, was held last Friday afternoon at 1: o'clock. Rev. G.H. Schich conducted the services at her late home, and a choir of voices sang several appropriate hymns. A Eliza Enger (Hunger)she was born in Canton Berne, Switzerland, April 30, 1846. She came to this country with her husband in 1871, locating in Platte county, where they were among the pioneers. About sixteen years ago they moved to Nance County. Mrs. Kurth was mother of nine children, six daughters and three sons. They, with twenty five grandchildren and three great grandchildren remain to lament the loss sustained by them in the passing of this noble woman. Mrs. Kurth leaves also her 90 year old sister Marie Enger (Hunger)who lived in the Kurth home ever since it came into existence and who has endeared herself more and more to the entire family.
