Description	:	Mrs. George Warren Joy, 73, resident of Nebraska for more than fifty-five years, died at the home at Oak Saturday. Her husband George W. Joy, died two years ago. She was born in Warren county (sic), O., in 1858, and six years later went to Iowa with her parents. Later the family came to Nebraska settling in Kowa. She was married in 1876. Funeral services were held at the home at 1:30 p.m. Monday. Pallbearers are six grandsons: Harvey Avers, Earl Corman, Raymond Joy, Robert L. Joy, Oliver Bergman and Charles Williams. - State Journal. The Nelson Gazette, Thursday, October 22, 1931; pg. 5 ============================ Elizabeth Ella Templin was born in Warren county (sic), Ohio, June 1, 1858, and died October 17, 1931, at Oak, Nebraska. At the age of 6 years she with her parents moved to Iowa and then 9 years later moved to Kiowa, Nebraska. Miss Templin married George Warren Joy of Oak, Nebr., March 12, 1876. To this union were born 7 children - 4 girls and 3 boys - all of whom except Minnie and George C. survive to mourn her departure to a better world. She was preceded in death by her husband who died August 22, 1929. Those left to mourn her death are her children: Mrs. Edith Avers, Edgar; Mrs. Elmina Corman, Superior; Warren, Campbell; Ralph, Ruskin; and Nellye who has resided at the home in Oak; 25 grandchildren, 8 great grand children; five sisters: Mrs. Laura Jones, Wheeler, Wash.; Mrs. Clara Joy, Oak; Mrs. Addie Applegate, Kansas City, Kans.; Mrs. Emma Ringer, Davenport; and Mrs. Millie Ringer, Davenport; and Mrs. Millie Hoffman, Atkinson. One brother and one sister preceded her in death: Samuel Templin and Mrs. Annie Otto, both of Davenport. In the winter of 1879-80 Mr. and Mrs. George Warren Joy were converted to the Christian faith and became members of the Methodist Episcopal Church at Mt. Zion and later transferred to the Methodist Church of Oak of which Mrs. Joy was a member at the time of her death. The funeral services were held in the M.E. Church at Oak Monday afternoon, conducted by Rev. W.B. Zimmerman. Interment was made in the Edgar cemetery (sic). The Nelson Gazette, Thursday, October 29, 1931; pg. 7
