Description	:	Elizabeth "Betty" Burch Elizabeth Ellen "Betty" Burch, 89, formerly of Danville, died Wednesday, July, 28, 2010, at Klein Center in Burlington. Born Jan. 21, 1921, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Rodney G. and Willia Mae Flowers Hawkins. She married Charles L. Sharp. He died in 1960. In 1971, she married Roland W. Burch. He died June 21, 1991. Mrs. Burch owned and operated Carroll County Nursing Home in Carroll, was administrator of Danville Care Center in Danville and was a county nurse for Des Moines County before retiring in the early 1980's. Read More	Elizabeth "Betty" Burch Elizabeth Ellen "Betty" Burch, 89, formerly of Danville, died Wednesday, July, 28, 2010, at Klein Center in Burlington. Born Jan. 21, 1921, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Rodney G. and Willia Mae Flowers Hawkins. She married Charles L. Sharp. He died in 1960. In 1971, she married Roland W. Burch. He died June 21, 1991. Mrs. Burch owned and operated Carroll County Nursing Home in Carroll, was administrator of Danville Care Center in Danville and was a county nurse for Des Moines County before retiring in the early 1980's. She was a 1939 graduate of Wapello High School and Burlington School of Nursing in 1942. She was a member of Danville United Methodist Church, Eastern Star and P.E.O., Burlington Steamboat Senior Citizens, Area Agency on Aging, and was senior delegate to Iowa legislature and recognized by Gov. Terry Branstad for her service. She enjoyed reading, listening to radio and golf, and she was an avid Cubs fan and dog lover. Survivors include one son, Charles Sharp of West Burlington; one daughter, Lee Ann Miller, of Blair, Neb.; 11 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren. Besides her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents, one granddaughter, one half brother and one half sister. Visitation will be from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Monday at Elliott Chapel in New London where family will receive friends. The funeral for Mrs. Burch will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Elliott Chapel in New London with the Rev. David Plooster officiating. Burial will be Tuesday in Carroll Cemetery in Carroll. A memorial has been established for Klein Center.
