When the shocking news spread through the community, it brought sorrow to the hearts of the many friends of the bereaved family. The high esteem in which the family are held was manifested by the neighbors who came from far and near to pay their last respects to the dead and offer words of consolation to the heart-broken husband and to perform such deeds as would tend to alleviate his mental suffering. Elizabeth Frances, who was the only sister of Edward and Henry Travers, was born in Wales in December, 1860, and was therefore 37 years and 4 months old at the time of her death. She came to the United States with her parents in 1883 and was married the following year in Illinois to Evan P.Frances and came with him to Nebraska in 1885 and has lived here ever since. Six children were born to them, four boys and two girls, all of whom are living. Never perhaps in the history of the many funerals from this place, where the evidences of grief and sorrow more profound and touching as was witnessed on Monday at the M. E. church, where the services were held, Rev.Moseworth performing the melancholy duty. The remains were followed by a large concourse of sorrowing relatives and friends to the Fullerton cemetery where they were laid to rest beside those of her father and mother. Mr. Frances and his motherless children, who were once the possessors of a bright and happy but now desolate home, have in this their sad hour of affliction the heartfelt sympathy of the entire community.
