Her death was attributed to quick pneumonia. Monday morning Mrs. Eich had attended mass at St Augustine's church and received communion. About noon she bagan to feel ill, and at 3 o'clock became much worse, her death occurring two hours later. The body was taken from the Kireher-Dietrich funeral home to the family home at Halbur Tuesday afternoon. Because of holy week services, requiem mass will be read by Rev. Father B. Schilmoeller at St. Augustine's church at 9 o'clock Wednesday morning, but burial will not be made until about 10 o'clock Thursday morning in the parish cemetery. Mrs. Eich was born Elizabeth Hausman, daughter of Peter & Katherine Hausman, at Soeven, Rhine province, Germany, Sept. 22, 1855. She was a girl of 12 when she came to American with her parents, who located on a farm near Mendota, Illinois. After living there for seven years they moved to a farm east of Halbur. On Oct. 13, 1877, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel church, Mount Carmel, she became the bride of Adolph Eich. They made their home on their farm west of Halbur, where they were living when Mr. Eich died oh June 13, 1906. After her husband's death Mrs. Eich moved to Halbur, where she had lived for 31 years. Her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Eich, made their home with her. Mrs. Eich was a member of St. Augustine's church of Halbur and of the Rosary sodality of the parish. She is survived by five daughters and four sons; Mrs Anton Hoelcher (Kaate), Anthony, Iowa; Mrs John Grossman (Christine), Mount Carmel; Frank Eich, Roselle; Mrs. Joe Schlichte (Anna), Westington, S. D.; Joe Eich, Halbur; Mrs. William Stevens (Elizabeth), Templeton; Mrs. Lena Eischeid, Halbur, and John and William Eich, Carroll. She also leaves one sister, Mrs. Mary Wittrock of Halbur. One sister, Mrs. Christina Koenig, died at Halbur July 8, 1921; a brother, Christ Hausman died at Bonesteel, S. D., two years ago, and another brother died while the family lived in Germany.
