B.V. Greteman. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Mr. Eich, former Halbur resident, died Sept. 25 at St. Christopher's Nursing Home in Long Beach. His body is expected to arrive at the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll Wednesday evening and friends may call after noon on Thursday. The rosary will be recited there at 3 and 8 p.m. Thursday. A son of Adolph and Elizabeth Eich, he was born Feb. 7, 1894, at Halbur. He attended Boys' College in Omaha, Neb., and upon return to Halbur was employed by the Joyce Lumber Company until enlisting in the Army during World War I. After completing his Army duty he returned to Halbur where in October, 1919, he was married to Rose Prenger. The wedding took place in St. Augustine Church, with the late Rev. Fr. Schimmel officiating. Mr. and Mrs. Eich continured to live in Halbur, where he was employed by the Farmers Elevator. Later they moved to St. Benedict, where he managed the elevator, and then moved to Pocahontas. From there they moved to Spencer, where Mr. Eich was in the grain and seed business. Mrs. Eich died in 1949 and he continued to live in Spencer until three years ago when he moved to Downey, Calif. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Joseph McKeen, Mrs. Delores Brimsted and Mrs. Luke Hammes, all of Long Beach; five grandchildren; a brother, Joseph Eich of Halbur; and three sisters, Mrs. Kate Koelker, Anthon; Mrs. William Stevens, Templeton; and Mrs. Lena Eischeid, Halbur. Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
