Her paternal grandparents were Isaac Beachum and Susannah Hill. Her maternal grandfather was William Farris. Her brothers and sister were Nancy Farris Beachum, Daniel Suggett Beachum (1791-1868) and Hull Chiswell Beachum. Her mother had been previously married so she had two half brothers, Anderson Stone (c. 1780-c.1805, m. Martha Ligon) and William Stone (c. 1781).
