Description	:	Obituary. Elizabeth J. Barton was born in Virginia, October 27, 1827, and came to Marion county, Mo. when very young. She became a christian, early in life, and was ever a valiant soldier of the cross. Her God and her religion were first and above all to her. She was married to Charles M. Maupin July 10, 1845. To this union were born ten children. Two died in infancy, eight live to mourn a loss that can never be repaired—the loss of a mother. Barton was born in Virginia, October 27, 1827, and came to Marion county, Mo. when very young. She became a christian, early in life, and was ever a valiant soldier of the cross. Her God and her religion were first and above all to her. She was married to Charles M. Maupin July 10, 1845. To this union were born ten children. Two died in infancy, eight live to mourn a loss that can never be repaired—the loss of a mother. Five of these children were at her bedside to do all that loving hearts could prompt willing hands to do; three are in the west one in California, two in Oregon. The two babes and the loving husband in heaven experienced a great joy Feb. 13, 3 p. m. when the happy soul took its flight from this sorrowing earth but the ones left in this cold world are stricken beyond the help of human hand. Yet it should be a time of rejoicing. She lived on borrowed time for ten years and more, because of man's allotted time being only three score years and ten. She expressed herself ready and more than willing to go. Blessed are they who die in the Lord. W. C. S. She died at the home of her son in Clarence. Mrs. H. T. Eskridge of this city is a daughter of the deceased. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. W. C Scott at Oak Ridge Friday 2 p. m. where she was buried.
