Death was caused by old age and a severe attack of rip. The funeral services were held from the Baptist church at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon, conducted by the Rev. Brownson and attended by a large concourse of sorrowing relatives and friends and the remains were laid to rest in Linwood cemetery beside those of her husband who recently preceded her in death. Elizabeth Jennings was born near Waynesburg, Pa., Sept. 26, 1830, and was in her seventy ninth year at the time of her death. When twelve years old she united with the Baptist church and has ever remained a consistent and devoted member, living a beautiful Christian life. May 30, 1849, she was united in marriage with Mr. Harrison V. Conway, in Knox county, Ohio. The family came to Boone county in 1871 and settled on a farm a short distance southeast of the city, where they continued to reside until 1892, when they removed to Boone and have since made their home here. She was a sister of the late Hon. John H. Jennings, who passed away but a few months ago. She leaves to mourn her death one son, J. Jennings Conway, and two daughters, Mrs. J.W. Keigley of this city and Miss Luella Conway at home. The bereaved children have the earnest sympathy of a host of friends in their sorrow.
