Conway, another of the oldest and most highly esteemed pioneer residents of Boone County, passed away at his home in this city at 528 Greene Street, Christmas afternoon, after a short illness with pneumonia. The funeral services will be held from the Baptist church of which he had long been a faithful member at 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon, burial in East Linwood cemetery. Conway, another of the oldest and most highly esteemed pioneer residents of Boone County, passed away at his home in this city at 528 Greene Street, Christmas afternoon, after a short illness with pneumonia. The funeral services will be held from the Baptist church of which he had long been a faithful member at 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon, burial in East Linwood cemetery. Deceased was born in Knox County, Ohio, March 14, 1829 and was in his 79th year at the time of his death. There he was united in marriage with Miss Elizabeth Jennings on May 30, 1849. In 1871 he came with his family to Boone County and located on a farm just south of the city. In connection with the farm he owned and operated a saw mill and was for years engaged in the building and contracting business and was recognized by all as one of the most skillful workmen in the country. In 1892 the family retired from the farm and settled in Boone where they have since made their home. He enlisted in the Union army during the rebellion and was sergeant in Co. I 142nd Ohio volunteers. He was a faithful member of the J.G. Miller post G.A.R. A man of intelligent understanding and progressive ideas, genial and warm hearted, esteemed by all who knew him and his death will be mourned by a wide circle of friends. He leaves to mourn his death his wife, two daughters Mrs. J.W. Keigley and Miss Luella Conway of this city, and one son Jennings Conway. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
