FERGUSON PASSES AWAY Death Claims Well Known Woman After an illness of many months Mrs. Elizabeth Ferguson died at 3:10 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, May 15 at the family home on the corner of Main and Third streets where she had been operating a boarding house with the assistance of her daughter, Mrs. Frank Robertson. She was a lady with many splendid traits of character and all who came in contact with her in a business or a social way learned to love her for the very kindness of heart which easily became evident. Elizabeth K. Clem was born near Covington, Indiana, Dec. 22, 1811 and died at her home in Halstead on May 15, 1918, aged 76 years, 5 months and 4 days. She came with her family to Halstead in 1874 and had made this city her home ever since, except for a few years spent in Missouri. She leaves two sons, D. E. Clark of Hutchinson and Leonidas Ferguson of Stilwell, Ok., three daughters, Mrs. R. A. Adamson of Leroy, Kans. and Mrs B. Robertson and Mrs. R. H. Pearson of this city and several step-children who loved her as a mother, besides three sons-in-law, one daughter-In-law, and several grand-children and was known and loved as Grandma Ferguson by a host of friends. The deceased united with the M. E. Church in 1890. At her request her funeral was held at her late home Friday afternoon at 3 o'clock and was conducted by Rev. W. E. Robertson, assisted by Rev. J. M. Oliver. Interment was made in the Halstead Cemetery. She knew the end was coming, yet she kept up her interest in things around her and just ten minutes before she breathed her last told those with her who was passing her window."
